Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

This role involves working in a fast-paced emergency room setting. The emergency room treats an average of 70-80 patients per day. Nurse-to-patient ratios are approximately 4:1. The facility has 24 beds, including behavioral health rooms and critical care rooms. A fast track area is available for efficient patient flow. Triage is conducted separately, and travelers are required to participate. Behavioral health safe rooms are provided within the unit. Security is present in-house 24/7. Registered Nurses are responsible for drawing labs. Respiratory Therapy is available 24/7 for necessary interventions. RNs are expected to troubleshoot equipment such as vents and CPAP. There is a sitter pool for behavioral health patients. Nurse aides assist in transportation and phlebotomy tasks. Shifts may require occasional weekend and holiday coverage. Floating between campuses may occur but is infrequent. Scrub color is navy blue, with specific dress code guidelines. The role requires prior experience in smaller, fast-paced facilities. This position is not suitable for new ED nurses. Travelers should not expect guaranteed block scheduling. The hospital may cancel up to four shifts during the assignment.
