Purchasing Agent

EssentialDutiesand Responsibilities: Essential duties and other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Negotiates pricing and other terms of purchase. Manage strategic suppliers w/ $10M and suppliers w/ filed activities. Obtain quotes for the following materials, procure materials, components, equipment, and services at the lowest cost consistent with consideration of quality and reliability of source. Expedite and ensure the timely receipt of materials. Collaborate with sales, engineering, and production to recommend new suppliers. Issues RFQs, analyzes proposals, and adjusts purchase orders in a timely manner. Monitor orders, deliveries, disputes, payment approval, negotiate prices and maintain necessary record. Negotiates vendor contracts, as appropriate and follows standard purchasing business processes. Coordinate purchasing activities with manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels. Identify problem and develop resolutions for material related accounting and receiving issues, notify management as necessary. Maintain and develop methods of business simplification for the procurement function. Assist with the development of ISO documents for the purchasing function. Review material requirement planning on a regular basis. Execute and cancel pull ins, push outs and planned orders as prioritized. Review and ensure actions per disposition of ECOs. Maintain inventory levels per plan, perform data analysis and minimize excess and zero demand inventory. Provides input to management regarding action plans to address long term issues. Identify and read the applicable part specifications and engineering drawings. Utilizes knowledge of material types to communicate with engineers and suppliers. Provides feedback to engineering team for cost reduction efforts. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
