Overview Sentara Obici Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for the 2 South Acute Telemetry Unit , a full‑time position based in Suffolk, VA. The unit is a 25‑bed cardiac telemetry unit caring for patients with heart failure, rhythm disturbances, implanted devices, post‑coronary interventions, stroke, and neuro cases. The unit operates on two shifts with rotating weekend coverage: Day Shift: 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. (rotating weekend schedule) Night Shift: 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. (rotating weekend schedule) Sign‑on bonuses are available: up to $20,000 for qualified night‑shift candidates and up to $15,000 for qualified day‑shift candidates. Unit Details The 2 South Acute Cardiac unit provides high‑acuity care in a ratio of 1:6 with assistance from Patient Care Techs. It is preparing to transition to a Cardiac PCU step‑down by year’s end. Responsibilities also include ethical practice, culturally congruent care, effective communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence‑based practice, quality improvement, resource utilization, and environmental health.
