Program Administrator 2 (Local Health Department Regional Officer) Location: Columbus, OH, United States. Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Compensation: $33.32 per hour. Responsibilities Provide direct guidance and support to Local Health Departments (LHDs) on accreditation, mergers, consolidation, shared services, and emerging public health needs. Serve as the primary liaison between ODH leadership, ODH staff, and LHDs—communicating decisions, interpreting policy, and representing leadership in meetings. Coordinate technical assistance and surge support (e.g., epidemiology, staffing, supplies) and deliver training through webinars, e‑learning, and continuing‑education tools. Analyze and evaluate LHD operations, policies, data, and procedures to support decision‑making, process improvement, and policy development. Make recommendations to leadership based on research, input from partners, and evaluation findings; prepare key correspondence and documents. Identify funding opportunities (grants, partnerships), maintain fiscal oversight, and support program and project development. Represent ODH on committees, task forces, and coalitions; support special projects and public health initiatives. Operate primarily in the field/working from home, with occasional visits to the office in Columbus, OH. Qualifications Minimum: 4 years training or experience in business administration, management science, or public administration. Or: Completion of an undergraduate core program in business administration, management science, or public administration AND 2 years training or experience in a supervisory, administrative, or managerial position. Or: Completion of an undergraduate core program in an academic field commensurate with the program area, and 2 years training or experience in a supervisory, administrative, or managerial position or staff position involving planning, research, and/or policy/procedure development. Or 1 year experience as Program Administrator 1 (position code 63122).
