Database Architect

Database ArchitectEZOPS is seeking a highly motivated candidate to lead our design, performance and scaling of our database design and infrastructure. The opportunity exists for an experienced Database Architect to work with the CTO and global management team to help design and build an industry leading platform.Key Responsibilities:Lead research, architecture, design, and implementation of EZOPS persistent data storage & query infrastructureCompany SME in Oracle and RDSAnalyze internal and client database performance and tune based on analysis of AWR reportsConsult with other members of the engineering teams on data and query designDrive database performance tuning, high availability, backups, and general optimizationLead internal documentation efforts, mentor other staff in various aspects of infrastructure design and servicesLead incident response for database related issues, diagnosis and follow-up on system outages or alerts across internally managed and client systemsRequirements:Candidate is expected to be a strong team player and work effectively in cross-organization situationsStrong leadership, interpersonal and relationship-building skills are requiredAbility to work independently and multi-task, taking ownership of tasks and using their initiative to produce high quality resultsExcellent verbal and written communicationsExperienced creating Internal and client facing project reportingExperience writing detailed requirements analysisLead by setting the exampleAbility to work independently, as an effective part of a globally distributed team, including ticket tracking systems and asynchronous communication toolsExperience supervising people remotelyQualifications:Deep knowledge of database storage concepts and working experience with storage systems, architectures and conceptsAdvanced level of experience with Oracle and RDS database administration and replication topologies at scaleIn-depth knowledge of SQL and optimization of queriesExperience designing and developing relational databases at large scale10+ years experience in an DBA/Architect role as part of a teamExperience working in a geographically distributed, highly available, high traffic infrastructure based on Oracle8+ years experience with core Oracle technologies to include rack, portioning, deploying on prem and AWS3+ years product company experienceExpertise within the financial services industryBachelor's degree requiredOptional Qualifications:Experience with Big Data technologies a big plusExperience with Google CloudExperience managing client supportExperience writing user documentation
