Maintenance Lead Technician

Maintenance Lead TechnicianRoyal Waste Services, a Waste Connections Company, is seeking a Maintenance Lead Technician to support repairs and preventative maintenance on forklifts, small loaders, and other equipment used in our recycling facility. This role is ideal for a hands-on technician with solid mechanical skills who can keep equipment safe, reliable, and operational in a fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform preventative maintenance (lubrication, filters, adjustments, inspections).Repair and maintain: ForkliftsSmall payloadersSkid steersOther facility equipmentAssist with basic hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical troubleshooting.Respond to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.Safety & ComplianceFollow all company, OSHA, and equipment-specific safety procedures.Perform proper lockout/tagout during repairs.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.Documentation & ReportingComplete work orders and maintenance logs accurately.Track parts usage and communicate needs to the Maintenance Manager.Report recurring issues or equipment concerns promptly.Shop & Field SupportAssist with equipment inspections and readiness checks.Support operations by ensuring equipment is available and functioning.Coordinate with vendors for parts or specialized repairs when needed.Qualifications1–3 years of experience in equipment or facility maintenance (industrial, warehouse, or waste industry preferred).Basic knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.Ability to read simple schematics or equipment manuals.Ability to perform repairs with minimal supervision.Valid driver's license.Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.What We OfferCompetitive hourly pay.Medical, dental, and vision coverage.401(k) with company match.Paid time off, holidays, and sick leave.Opportunities for growth within Waste Connections.A culture built on trust, accountability, and teamwork.Why You Need To Join UsCulture: Empowered, self-directed All Stars who know the importance of their work.Integrity: We say what we will do — and then do it.Waste Connections is an equal opportunity employer.
