Overview Radiation Therapist specializing in Radiation Therapy Tech is available for a travel temporary assignment in Sonora, California. Key Highlights per week pay: $2,391 - $2,510 Guaranteed hours: 40 per week Contract duration: 6 weeks Shift: 3x12-hour days Start date: 08/03/2026 Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital Responsibilities Administer the prescribed course of ionizing radiation by verifying the prescription, diagnosis chart, and patient identity. Explain procedures to the patient, communicate during treatment, and support patient understanding and cooperation. Deliver daily radiation dose per prescription while observing radiation safety measures for patients and staff. Prepare treatment room and equipment, assist with immobilization devices, transfer the patient to the treatment couch, and address patient needs. Monitor patients for unusual reactions or signs of complications during treatment and report any concerns to the supervisor and department physician. Maintain daily treatment records and patient charts, ensuring accuracy of documentation and appropriate review of charts to support treatment delivery and reporting. Requirements Education: Bachelor's Degree in radiologic technology or equivalent; Master's Degree preferred. Licenses/Certifications: ARRT in Radiation Therapy (ARRT-T) and Therapeutic Radiologic Technology Certification (TRT) required. Experience: At least two years of recent experience in radiologic technology; EPIC and Cerner experience (backfill requirement) preferred. Additional certifications: Current BLS or CPR certification preferred; Fluoroscopy Permit from the state of practice preferred. Other: Ability to work in a short-term acute care hospital setting and participate in a 40-hour weekly schedule; must meet state requirements for licensure and credentialing.
