Hardware Engineering’s capabilities encompass a broad range of technical disciplines which include engineering, technical services, materials, processes, analysis, test, and documentation.Within the Hardware Engineering Organization, the Undersea & Electronics Systems (UES) Department leads the mechanical and electrical design, development, and integration of a diverse set of products, including but not limited to undersea sensors and analysis, naval platforms, shipboard/ground-based processing and power equipment, and launchers. The UES department is looking for full-time Senior Design Engineer, with a Focus of Advanced 3D Modeling, located in Portsmouth, RI.What You Will DoWork with engineers across the business to propose, design, develop, integrate, and document detailed designs of large assemblies and sub-assemblies within the mechanical design department using CREOCommunicate with engineering team members and suppliers to design, model, and document the design technical data package (TDP) and its capabilities and compliance with configuration and drafting requirementsSupport development, evaluation, and analysis of mechanical designsGenerate and release engineering drawings and drawing change incorporationUtilize CREO for modeling and documentation creation.Large Assembly Management and BOM ManagementQualifications You Must HaveTypically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools, with advanced modeling and drawing experience.Experience with any Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), tolerance analyses, drawing practices and interpretation (ASME Y-14.5) for mechanical hardwareThe ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
