CNC Programmer and Machinist

Are you an experienced CNC Programmer and Machinist with a strong understanding of machining principles? We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to be responsible for the quality and production output of assigned machines. The ideal candidate has experience with both manual and CNC machining and is able to handle a variety of tasks from programming to routine maintenance and troubleshooting.

Qualifications:

• At least 10 years of experience working with both manual and CNC machines is a must.

• Proficiency in Mastercam.

• Hands-on mechanical skills are a must.

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.

• Experience in setting up and programming.

• Working knowledge of machine capabilities and processes.

• Experience in Manual Lathe operations and maintenance on midsize lathes and Manual Mill operation.

• Ability to contribute to design concepts.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Spanish language skills are a plus but not mandatory.

• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and drive projects is a must.

• Must be a self-starter who can work under minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment.

• Must be willing to become Forklift certified.

• A Driver's License is required.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

• The work is performed in a non-climate-controlled environment.

• You will be frequently standing (31-60%) and continuously sitting (61-100%).

• The role involves frequently working with machinery (31-60%).

• You must be able to frequently lift or carry 1-40 lbs and occasionally lift or carry 41-60 lbs and 61 lbs or more.

• You will be occasionally bending or stooping, reaching above shoulder level, climbing stairs, and walking.

Schedule:

• This is a full-time position.

• Working hours are Monday through Thursday, 6am - 4:30pm.

• Overtime might occasionally be required.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Operating and programming CNC precision lathes (Okuma controls).

• Setting up tooling , programming, and operating the Okuma Lathe 2020.

• Selecting appropriate tools , loading materials, and monitoring the machining process.

• Reading blueprints and work orders .

• Inspecting finished parts for quality and accuracy using appropriate measuring instruments to ensure they meet specifications.

• Preparing materials for cutting, including measuring, marking, and securing them.

• Operating drills and grinders and fabricating metal parts.

• Performing routine machine maintenance , including cleaning, lubricating, and troubleshooting malfunctions.

• Maintaining accurate records of production, materials used, time spent, and issues encountered.

• Following all safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

• Collaborating with team members and seeking ways to improve processes.
• Assisting other departments as necessary
