Diesel Mechanic
Bus & Truck of Chicago (BTC) is the leading Independent Commercial Vehicle Maintenance and Collision Repair shop in the Chicagoland area. Located in Bedford Park, IL, BTC has earned a reputation for delivering high-quality work on large and complex jobs for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and large public and private sector customers. We service and repair all types of buses, trucks, and heavy-duty vehicles.
We are looking to hire Diesel Mechanics and candidates will need to be available to work Monday-Friday from 8:00AM – 4:30PM (30-min lunch included). Overtime is available on an as needed basis. Employees are paid weekly and starting pay is based on experience. Benefits (Health, Vision, Dental) are available after 90 days of employment and IRA is available after 1 year of employment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostic tests to troubleshoot electrical, A/C, engine, aftertreatment, and other heavy duty vehicle issues
- Perform routine maintenance on buses and trucks including brake, springs, suspension, A/C, electrical, clutches, engines, aftertreatment, and electrical repairs
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Salary
- $30-$45/hour paid weekly, based on experience

Education
- High school diploma or GED, Vocational or Technical Certification in vehicle repair preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- ASE certification, CDL License preferred but not required
