Accounting Specialist

Accounting SpecialistA growing manufacturing company in Conroe is seeking an experienced AR/AP Accounting Specialist for a temporary assignment covering a maternity leave. This position will support the accounting department with day-to-day accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting activities.The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with both AP and AR, is proficient in QuickBooks, and can quickly step into a busy accounting environment with minimal training.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess accounts payable invoices, including reviewing, coding, and entering invoices into QuickBooks.Support accounts receivable activities, including billing, payment posting, and maintaining customer account records.Communicate with vendors and customers regarding invoice and payment inquiries.Maintain accurate accounting records and assist with general ledger activities.Prepare basic journal entries and provide general accounting support as needed.Utilize QuickBooks and Excel to maintain and update accounting information.Assist the Finance Manager and accounting team with additional projects and daily accounting tasks.Requirements3–5+ years of accounting experience, including hands-on accounts payable and accounts receivable responsibilities.Proficiency in QuickBooks, preferably QuickBooks Desktop.Working knowledge of general accounting principles and basic journal entries.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.Ability to learn quickly and manage multiple priorities.Immediate availability or ability to start on short notice.Comfortable working onsite in Conroe for a short-term assignment.
