CDL Truck Driver

The normal schedule is Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts - though overtime may be required occasionally, as an 8-hour weekend shift.

Day Shift: 7:00AM to 3:00PM

Note: As a union-based employer, we are unable to guarantee any shift preference following initial training on day shift. Shift preference is granted by seniority. All candidates should expect to work afternoon shift and/or night shift at some point following initial training.

Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour

Position Overview

As a CDL Truck Driver at Canton Drop Forge, you will operate commercial trucks with a capacity of more than 3 tons to transport specified materials and products to designated destinations. Your responsibilities include safely driving the assigned truck over public roads and highways, loading and unloading cargo using ropes, chains, tire blocks, and other securing methods, performing routine vehicle inspections and minor roadside repairs, and maintaining accurate delivery logs while adhering to state and federal transportation regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate commercial trucks to transport materials and products
• Loading and unloading cargo using securing methods
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and minor roadside repairs
• Maintain accurate delivery logs
• Follow state and federal transportation regulations
• Maintain cleanliness of truck interior for safe operation
• Effective communication with customers and dispatch
• Support shipment preparations when not on the road.

Job Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL
• Proficient English communication
• Active ODOT physical without limitations
• Safe forklift operation

Physical Requirements

• Constant sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning throughout shift.
• Ability to work with parts up to 100 lb. throughout shift, with assistive lifting devices.
• Ability to work within very hot and industrial work environment during all seasons.
