Job Details

• Position: Locum Tenens Hematology/Oncology Nurse Practitioner
• Location: San Francisco, CA
• Healthcare Setting: Outpatient hospital-based oncology infusion center
• Schedule: Full-time; 4x10 or 5x8 day shifts, weekends required
• Shift Length: 10-hour day shifts
• Hours per Week: 40
• Call: 1 Saturday per month
• Assignment Length: 23 weeks
• Start Date: 11/2/2026
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $5,250–$5,620

Job Requirements

• Active Nurse Practitioner license and approved NP board certification
• 2–3 years of experience in hematology/oncology or a related oncology specialty
• Experience managing patients from diagnosis through treatment
• Inpatient or high-acuity experience required; outpatient-only experience will not be considered
• Infusion center experience preferred
• Experience with BMT and hematology patients is a plus
• Current AHA BLS certification required
• California DEA with Schedule 2/2N required
• All certifications must be AHA
• COVID-19 vaccination and booster required; medical or religious exemptions only
• Current CV, provider questionnaire, and license verification required for submission

Responsibilities

• Provide autonomous, consultative care for adult oncology and hematology patients in an infusion setting
• Evaluate and manage patients with new concerns, treatment-related complications, and adverse reactions
• Coordinate care across oncology disease groups from diagnosis through treatment
• Support transfers and direct admissions when escalation of care is needed
• Collaborate closely with APPs, RNs, and referring oncology teams to ensure seamless patient flow
• Deliver patient-centered care in a fast-moving clinical environment
• Partner with inpatient services when higher-acuity needs arise
