This position involves teaching, research, service, and program support in a vibrant Bachelor’s degree program in Central Texas. Specific responsibilities include teaching courses in Human Resource Development and providing service to the program, department, university, and profession. Program The Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Development & Learning in Organizations prepares students for success in careers including training, talent development, career development, organizational development, and related areas. This position will include teaching core courses in the program, with a particular focus on teaching ADED 4322 Foundations of Human Resources Development, ADED 4321 Introduction to Adult Learning, ADED 3305 Career Development in Human Resource Development, ADED 4330 Adult Education Program Planning and Management, ADED 3344 Multicultural Perspectives in Adult Learning and Human Resource Development, and/or ADED 4343 Organization Development. The successful candidate will be headquartered on the San Marcos campus. Department The CLAS Department serves approximately 1,100 students seeking undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degrees in Professional Counseling, Educational and Community Leadership, Adult, Professional, and Community Education, School Psychology, Student Affairs in Higher Education, Human Resource Development & Learning in Organizations, and Integrated Studies. The CLAS Department provides high‑quality undergraduate and graduate education to promote significant transformational changes in communities, schools, organizations, and institutions locally and globally. Required Qualifications An earned doctorate in Human Resource Development, Adult Education, or Related Field (i.e., leadership studies or organizational communication—if the candidate has extensive coursework related to adult learning or human resource development) by employment date. A demonstrated record of excellence in teaching. A demonstrated record of excellence in service at university, college, department, program, professional, and/or community levels. Evidence of potential for continued growth (e.g., professional development or conference attendance, innovative teaching strategies, engagement in research). Five or more years of full‑time experience teaching in higher education (associate professor rank only). Evidence of potential for increase leadership in teaching and instructional activities (associate professor rank only). A demonstrated record of developing course content (associate professor rank only). Preferred Qualifications Preparedness to teach core human resource development courses as listed above. Professional experience as a practitioner in training, organizational development, career development, or other human resource development areas. A record of, or potential for, research in adult education or human resource development publication. A record of, or potential for, seeking or securing external grants, contracts, and other revenue sources. Experience in writing/developing online academic courses and programs. Ability to advise undergraduate students in the HRD program. Ability to articulate a vision for the growth of HRD programs at Texas State University.
