This role is ideal for a technician who is adaptable, eager to learn, and thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. You are not expected to have advanced specialty-specific skills (e.g., chemotherapy administration, MRI operation), but you should have a strong technical foundation and a willingness to grow into more advanced skills over time. Role Responsibilities Support veterinarians and technicians across ER, ICU, Surgery, Neurology, Advanced Imaging and Oncology Assist with patient care including treatments, monitoring, and nursing support Prepare patients for procedures and assist where appropriate Monitor anesthesia and assist with surgical and procedural cases (based on skill level) Provide nursing care for hospitalized and critical patients Collect laboratory samples (blood, urine, tissue) and perform in-house diagnostics Administer medications, fluids, and treatments as prescribed Monitor and interpret vital signs (BP, ECG, SpO₂, ETCO₂) Assist in advanced imaging procedures: Ultrasound, CT, MRI, etc. Assist with triage and emergency procedures as needed Maintain accurate medical records and ensure appropriate documentation Maintain clean, organized, and functional treatment areas Support patient flow and step into departments as needed Experience & Skills Requirements Minimum 1-2 years of veterinary technician experience (ER, ICU, or specialty preferred) LVT/CVT/RVT preferred Proficient in: Animal restraint and patient handling IV catheter placement and sample collection Medication administration (IV, IM, SQ, PO) Basic anesthesia monitoring and recovery support Basic radiology technique Ability to: Obtain and interpret TPRs and basic vital signs Recognize changes in patient condition and elevate appropriately Perform basic laboratory diagnostics (urinalysis, bloodwork prep, etc.) Familiarity with: Surgical preparation and aseptic technique Post-operative patient monitoring and care Emergency and critical care workflows Digital radiography and basic imaging positioning Strong attention to detail with medical records and documentation Ability to manage multiple patients in a fast-paced environment Benefits Competitive pay 401(k) with employer match Mental health resources, including easy access to therapy through Lyra Health Paid parental leave Purr-ental leave for when you adopt a pet Subsidized backup childcare and elder care Expert advice, support and network discounts for fertility and family planning FREE CE courses Pet perks and veterinary service discounts Student loan support tools and assistance #J-18808-Ljbffr Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education
