Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care UnitAmerican TravelerConcord, North Carolina, United StatesPosition status: OpenAssignment type: travelShift: NightsLength (weeks): 13Openings: 1$2,059.00/week (estimated advertised weekly pay)DescriptionAmerican Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring 18 months of PCU experience and a NC or compact RN license.DetailsWork in the Medical Telemetry/PCU unit of a Trauma Level III teaching hospital14 private rooms with no negative pressure capabilityPatient population includes heart failure, chest pain, fluid resuscitation/blood products, COPD, and cardiac cath pre/post cases, as well as medical overflowRN to patient ratio of 1:4-6 (acuity dependent, surge up to 1:7-8), or 1:4 for PCU patients; CNA ratio of 1:7Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitorsUnit-specific equipment includes bladder scanner, EKG machine, and transport monitor12-hour night shift schedule (1845-0715) on a 6-week cycle, 36 hours per weekEvery other weekend rotation requiredNo on-call requirementsRequired to float within Region 1 facilities (Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division including CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH) based on staffing needsRequirementsActive RN license (NC or Compact) requiredCurrent certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSSMinimum 18 months of PCU RN experience required, with most recent experience within the last yearSkills required include PIV starts, NG tube placement/management, Pleurx drains, surgical drain management, chest tube management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, non-titratable cardiac drips (Cardizem), and TR bandsEpic EMR experience requiredLast 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for considerationMinimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RNAdditional InformationProvide direct patient care in a Chest Pain Center, Stroke Center of Excellence, and Bariatric Center of ExcellenceSupport team includes CNAs trained in phlebotomy, 12-lead EKGs, and glucometer use, a dedicated IV/VAT team, 24/7 Respiratory Therapy, and 24/7 Hospitalist coverageCharge nurse may or may not carry a patient assignmentTelemetry monitoring is performed remotely in an off-unit arrhythmia center with visual EKG access at the nurses' stationOrientation includes New Employee Orientation (NEO) and 2 days of departmental orientationTravelers will be required to work 75% of holidaysUp to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays, with any missed contracted hours added to the end of the contractNavy scrub color requiredFree parking availableUnit culture is described as professional and team-orientedFirst-time travelers will not be considered for this positionCandidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not acceptedReturning employees must be separated from any Advocate Health Southeast facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position
