Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced emergency care setting, including initial assessments and ongoing monitoring.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; monitor patient responses and document changes.
- Collaborate with physicians, RNs, and support staff to deliver timely, safe care; assist with procedures as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic record; communicate effectively during handoffs.
- Prepare patients for examination and procedures; assist with wound care, splinting, and other routine ED interventions as appropriate.
- Support patient and family education and discharge planning to promote continuity of care after the encounter.

Requirements
- Licensed in the State of Illinois as EMT or Paramedic, or completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant program.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- BLS certification.
- May be required to lift 50 lbs.; ability to stand and walk for long periods; potential exposure to communicable diseases.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-stress, dynamic environment with a need for rapid prioritization and teamwork.
