As a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) , you will:
- Serve as an active member of the Recovery Support and CPS Teams.
- Use your lived experience to model recovery, resilience, and hope.
- Assist individuals in developing and achieving personalized Recovery Service Plans.
- Support participants in identifying strengths, resources, and natural supports.
- Conduct regular meetings and document progress in accordance with program standards.
- Provide education on recovery principles, wellness tools, self-help resources, and mutual support programs.
- Utilize Motivational Interviewing techniques to encourage positive change and address barriers to recovery.
- Support individuals with community integration activities, including social, educational, recreational, and advocacy opportunities.
- Assist participants in improving social, interpersonal, and daily living skills.
- Connect individuals with community resources and supportive services.
- Communicate service successes, challenges, and needs to supervisors.
- Maintain current CPS certification and complete required trainings.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, confidentiality requirements, and organizational policies.
- Participate in team meetings and staff development activities.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete service documentation.
- Work primarily in community settings, with approximately 80% of time spent in the field.

- Pennsylvania Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) Certification
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation
- Ability to successfully complete Act 33 and Pennsylvania State Police background clearances
- Self-identified current or former recipient of mental health and/or co-occurring disorder services
- Minimum of 12 months of paid or volunteer experience within the past three years (one year of recent education may be substituted for experience)
- Experience working in recovery-oriented behavioral health services
- Knowledge of community resources and recovery support programs
- Experience utilizing Motivational Interviewing and wellness recovery principles
- On-Call
- Community-based position with field work and local travel
- Flexible hours based on participant needs and program requirements
- Participation in team meetings and required trainings as scheduled
- Ability to travel throughout the community to support participants
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and perform job duties in a variety of community settings
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
