Veterinary Extern - General Practice

Job Description Willow Run Veterinary Clinic is a 7‑doctor small animal, general practice that sees a wide variety of cases. We work as a team and like to collaborate, offering a fun environment with a great sense of humor. Externship Overview Students will work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry services, observing/assisting or performing surgical procedures, and medical management of patients. In addition, externs will practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients. Responsibilities Gather patient histories Perform physical examinations Create treatment plans Assist with diagnostics Provide dentistry services Observe, assist, or perform surgical procedures Manage patient medical records Communicate with clients and support staff Eligibility and Stipend Externship is offered to 3rd and 4th year veterinary students.
