Vessels Combo Welder Days (Welder/Fitter)

Great working environment. Position Summary Responsible for completing routine welding and fitting assignments within clearly defined processes while working under moderate supervision. Job Responsibilities Use metal core MIG, fluxcore, subarc, TIG or stick welding processes (must pass two or more). Weld brackets and braces, use grinders, and position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools. Perform position welds on code materials. Proficient in flame and plasma cutting torches. Read and understand blueprints and perform own fit-up. Operate basic cutting equipment. Layout and mark weld points on parts or subassemblies using rule, square, scribe or templates. Work with different types and sizes of structural materials. Operate cutting equipment and safely use iron worker, overhead cranes, rigging, pipe threading machine, welding machine, tube bending machine, and various pneumatic hand tools. Assist in assembly of components with some fabrication of equipment. Required Tests Pass a 6G weld test, vessel or pipe. Pass a written fitters exam. Preferred Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent, or an educational and experiential combination. Five (5) years related experience and/or training, including welding school or on-the-job training. Knowledge of different types and sizes of pipe and vessel material. Physical Strain Lifting up to 50 pounds, frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
