Your Day at Lowe's You will welcome customers to Lowe's and help them find the right products and services for their home improvement needs. You will interact with customers throughout the day, help them find and select products, occasionally load merchandise, and ensure all customer needs are met. While you will spend most of your time listening to customers, answering questions, and organizing merchandise, your daily responsibilities may vary by department. Customer Service Associates work in one of the following departments, based on hiring needs and skillsets: Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services. Key Responsibilities Welcome customers and answer questions, delivering friendly, professional service. Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise. Down stock merchandise by finding empty areas on shelves and replenishing supplies. Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise on time. Cross‑functionally train in other areas of the store. Prepare merchandise based on customer needs (e.g., tint and mix paint, cut pipe, bundle wood, cut drywall, cut blinds). Guide customers through shopping or checkout. Complete other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications 6 months experience using a computer (inputting, accessing, modifying, outputting information). 6 months experience using common retail technology such as smartphones and tablets. Reading, writing, and basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction). Ability to perform duties requiring prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job. Can lift at least 25 lbs unassisted or >25 lbs with or without accommodation. Preferred Qualifications 6 months retail and/or customer service experience. Bi‑lingual skills. Certification in a trade related to a department (e.g., hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, lumber/building materials). Travel Requirements This role does not require regular travel, but occasional travel may be necessary for meetings, training, or support of neighboring stores. Working Conditions Environmental factors vary by location. Work may involve both indoor and outdoor conditions with exposure to varying climates and noise. The associate may be required to follow lifting guidelines, using single or team lifts up to 75 lbs, and use powered equipment when available.
