Actuary, Analytics/Forecasting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Actuary, Analytics/Forecasting based in the United States.

This remote opportunity offers the chance to shape financial forecasting and risk analysis for complex Medicare Part D programs.
You will develop and maintain pharmacy forecasting models supporting financial planning, trend analysis, and risk assessment.
The role provides significant exposure to evolving benefit structures and regulatory changes, including those associated with the Inflation Reduction Act.
You will translate sophisticated actuarial analysis into actionable insights for senior leadership and key business stakeholders.
As a newly created position, you will help strengthen financial strategy and expand organizational understanding of Part D economics.
You will also play an important role in maintaining data integrity, improving analytical processes, and resolving complex data challenges.
The position combines actuarial expertise, advanced analytics, strategic thinking, and independent decision-making in a highly collaborative environment.

• Develop, maintain, and enhance Medicare Part D pharmacy forecasting models used for financial planning, risk assessment, and trend analytics across relevant lines of business.
• Analyze pharmacy and healthcare data to identify trends, assess financial risks, and generate insights that support strategic decision-making.
• Incorporate evolving Part D benefit structures, regulatory requirements, and program changes into forecasting and financial analysis.
• Maintain data integrity by developing and implementing appropriate data-flow processes, controls, and quality checks.
• Partner with business and technical stakeholders to understand analytical needs, troubleshoot issues, and identify cost-effective solutions.
• Perform root-cause analysis on data anomalies and resolve issues that could affect forecasting accuracy or financial reporting.
• Advise senior leaders on significant actuarial and financial strategies, translating complex analysis into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Apply independent judgment to complex assignments, evaluating variable factors and determining appropriate analytical approaches with minimal supervision.
• Support multiple actuarial functions, potentially including modeling, pricing, reporting and analysis, reserving, and trending.
• Document actuarial analyses, methodologies, assumptions, and communications in accordance with applicable professional standards.
• Help expand Part D financial literacy across the broader organization by communicating key concepts, findings, and implications to non-actuarial stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve forecasting methodologies, analytics capabilities, data processes, and overall financial decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• FSA or ASA designation combined with a relevant advanced degree, recent and relevant professional experience, and/or other applicable professional designations.
• MAAA qualification required.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex actuarial and analytical concepts effectively in both written and verbal formats.
• Experience working across at least two actuarial functions, such as modeling, pricing, reporting and analysis, reserving, or trending.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, and critical-thinking capabilities.
• Ability to work independently on complex assignments, exercise sound judgment, and determine appropriate approaches with limited supervision.
• Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into business-oriented recommendations.
• Healthcare actuarial experience is preferred.
• Experience with SAS, SQL, Snowflake , or comparable data analytics, database, or reporting technologies is advantageous.
• Experience with claims trend analysis, forecasting, business intelligence, or financial analysis within healthcare or managed care environments is preferred.
• Familiarity with documenting actuarial analyses and communications in accordance with applicable actuarial standards, including ASOP 41 , is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment while maintaining a dedicated, secure workspace and reliable internet connection.
