Location USA - Independence, 710 Clymer Ct Division Solutions Job Posting Title Supervisor, Operations Time Type Full Time Schedule 1A / 1st Shift Hours 5:00 AM – 5:30 PM Days Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday Position Summary The Operations Supervisor is responsible for supervising, labor management, and planning of inbound, outbound, product slotting and customer communication activities daily, including labor scheduling, space utilization, equipment and manpower. People management responsibilities include hiring and training, planning and assigning daily work, conducting performance appraisals, addressing performance issues and resolving problems. Under the direction of the Operations Manager or Distribution Center Manager, the Supervisor is responsible for supervising the receiving, warehousing and shipping of products in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives. As part of the DSV team, associates are expected to meet company objectives in the areas of performance, safety, and quality and to comply with all corporate and site‑specific policies. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Conduct staff meetings to review daily/weekly work activities, plan and assure continuous improvement. Effectively keep senior management and client representatives informed of critical issues that affect operations. Ensure development of systems and procedures for managing operations, equipment, and products in a safe and profitable manner in accordance with company policies, guidelines, and procedures; manage operations to meet prescribed productivity and service goals. Implement and report on ongoing cost‑savings measures and provide ideas for more efficient operations. Meet all client‑specified KPIs and comply with quality system requirements. Manage operations to achieve prescribed objectives; apply sound communication and motivational techniques, create programs to fairly supervise, counsel, and discipline team members; assist in hiring, training and professional development; participate in performance evaluation to recommend promotions, wage increases and other HR activities. Own overall training and evaluation responsibilities of warehouse staff. Plan the daily work schedule by reviewing existing work orders, arrival notices and customer instructions; assess priorities and assign duties to appropriate staff. Review pending jobs or trends, plan for reorganization of warehouse space and adjust staffing or supplies as needed. Train new staff or delegate training; assess progress and add duties as appropriate. Keep informed of quantity and quality of jobs performed; provide guidance and advice as necessary. Assign supervisory duties to experienced team members acting as leads for lower‑level staff; monitor progress and problems. Keep manager advised of progress or problems requiring attention; hold regular meetings to assess status and discuss improvement ideas; keep staff informed of new developments. Assist in physical operations as needed. Deliver results by leveraging the skills of the right people at the right time. Maintain high motivation among team members to focus on highest levels of customer satisfaction. Provide ongoing growth and development opportunities for team members. Input and conduct annual performance reviews for team members. Support adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and train team members with adherence to SOPs (corporate and client). Education & Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED). 3 years’ experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment. 1 year experience in a supervisory role. Preferred: Prior MHE certification or knowledge of basic MHE operation. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program. Computer Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). RF scanners. WMS functions. Language Skills English (reading, writing, verbal). Business communication. Mathematical Skills Basic to intermediate level for verifying quantities of product, counting inventory, or performing related duties. Other Skills Strong attention to detail, accuracy and timely completion of tasks. Good organizational and personnel skills. Good communication skills, written and oral. Good leadership, supervision, and planning skills. Able to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends, as required. Participate in cross‑training metrics activities and assist as a backup when needed. Effectively adapt to change and thrive in a stimulating, fast‑paced work environment. Work overtime as dictated by business, whether mandatory or voluntary. Work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse; seasonal temperatures range from mild to moderate. Physical Demands Occasionally: bending. Frequently: walking and standing. Constantly: sitting. Ability to lift/carry and push/pull 11–20 pounds, reach above shoulder, squat or kneel. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is rarely exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Compensation Expected base pay range: $70,000.00 – $75,000.00 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on job‑related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education or certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
