Physical Therapist (PT) - Outpatient

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist (PT) to join our outpatient team. This position involves providing high-quality rehabilitation services to adult and geriatric patients within a community-focused environment.

Shift Details

The position requires full-time availability for 8-hour shifts scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver outpatient physical therapy services to patients, with a focus on geriatric, neurologic, and orthopedic populations.
• Conduct initial evaluations, develop treatment plans, and provide ongoing assessments to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Implement therapeutic interventions and educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safety measures.
• Utilize adaptive and assistive devices effectively, ensuring patient mobility and safety during therapy sessions.
• Maintain precise documentation of each patient's progress, goals, and educational needs.
• Engage in continuous professional development and adhere to facility policies and protocols.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years of physical therapy experience, specifically within an outpatient setting.
• Required certifications include BLS and proven manual therapy skills.
• Experience with dry needling and hand therapy is preferred.
• Strong understanding of pain management techniques, body mechanics, and vital signs assessment.
• Proficiency in patient evaluation, assessment, and goal setting, with knowledge of documentation standards in rehabilitation.

Additional Requirements

• A Maryland state or compact physical therapist license must be obtained prior to start.
• Candidates must possess experience with a variety of therapeutic equipment, including crutches, gait belts, and traction tables.
• Expertise in working with adaptive and assistive devices, including lower-extremity prosthetics and shoulder slings.
• Ability to float within outpatient units as required, maintaining a focus on patient-centered care.

Work Environment

The role involves collaboration with a dedicated team of rehabilitation professionals in an outpatient physical therapy department, primarily serving adult and geriatric patients.

Scrubs and Charting

• Scrub color: Wine
• Charting systems utilized include Net Health and PowerChart/Cerner.

Time Off

Up to 2 pre-approved time-off requests are permitted during the contract period.
