Learning Disabilities Specialist/Part-time Faculty

Learning Disabilities Specialist / Part-time Faculty Position within the Disability Resource Center. Part‑time faculty may work day, evening, and/or weekend hours at multiple sites including the San Marcos campus, off‑campus locations, and distance education classes. Job Responsibilities Provide diagnostic procedures to verify eligibility for services for students with learning disabilities under California Community Colleges guidelines. Conduct tests and review documentation, including sources outside the California College system. Offer educational accommodations, recommendations, and referrals to students and faculty. Teach instructional support and disability management courses for students with disabilities. Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in learning disabilities, special education, education, psychology, speech‑language pathology, communication disorders, school psychology, counseling, or rehabilitation counseling PLUS 15 semester units of upper‑division or graduate study in learning disabilities, including adult cognitive and achievement assessment. Or a combination of education and experience equivalent to the above. Applicants must complete and attach the Application for Equivalency form ( Degrees not yet awarded are acceptable if documentation is pending. Only coursework and degrees from accredited U.S. institutions are considered. For foreign credentials, transcripts must be evaluated by an approved U.S. credential evaluation service (e.g., Licenses and Certifications A California Community College Learning Disability Eligibilities and Services Model (LDESM) certification is preferred but not required.
