About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Med Surg/Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 12 months of Oncology experience in a hospital or medical center setting is required. License: Must hold an active Iowa or compact multistate license at the time of submission. Certifications: AHA/Active American Heart Association or ARC/AMERICAN RED CROSS Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Must-Have: - 12 months of Oncology experience in a hospital or medical center setting - Experience with Infusaport access - Active Iowa or compact/multistate nursing license - Skills checklist specific to Oncology/Med Surgical must be submitted - Professional reference from charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, or CNO within the last 24 months - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Description: This position requires a Registered Nurse specializing in Med Surg/Oncology. The nurse will provide care to patients with oncology and med/surg needs. Floating across other med/surg units may be required. Ratios on nights are typically 1:5-6. Traveling may be required across multiple campuses. Candidates should have recent chemotherapy experience, though it is preferred rather than mandatory. Experience with EPIC electronic medical records is highly preferred. Candidates must have completed at least one travel contract within the previous 12 months. A Chemotherapy/ONS/ONCC certificate is a nice-to-have but not required. The nurse will be involved in chemotherapy and side effect management for patients.
