Accountabilities:

The Senior Accountant will provide outsourced accounting and assistant controller-level support to healthcare clients by managing financial reporting, accounting operations, and process improvements. This role requires strong attention to detail, client service skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.

• Manage day-to-day financial reporting activities for assigned healthcare clients, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery.
• Support complex general ledger activities by identifying missing transactions, analyzing trends, and resolving discrepancies.
• Review and approve account classifications to ensure proper financial reporting practices.
• Analyze balance sheets, investigate variances, and coordinate follow-up actions with relevant stakeholders.
• Prepare and review monthly reporting packages, including key performance indicators and financial metrics.
• Lead and finalize month-end close processes while ensuring proper documentation and accuracy.
• Prepare and review accounting work papers, schedules, and supporting documentation.
• Maintain and update client procedure manuals to ensure consistent and effective processes.
• Coordinate project tasks and manage workflows to meet client expectations and deadlines.
• Assist with workload planning, resource allocation, and management of accounting assignments based on client needs and budgets.
• Collaborate with internal teams and service lines to deliver comprehensive client solutions.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of accounting best practices.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced accounting professional with strong financial reporting expertise, healthcare industry knowledge, and the ability to manage complex client engagements.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience with a focus on financial reporting and general ledger management.
• Experience with full-cycle accounting within healthcare environments such as physician practices, hospitals, clinics, or skilled nursing organizations.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and month-end close processes.
• Experience managing multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines in a client-focused environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to accuracy and detail.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong client relationships.
• Ability to identify process improvements and contribute to operational efficiencies.
