Custodian Position at Thyra Thomson Office BuildingWe are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Custodian to join our facilities team at the Thyra Thomson Office Building. Our total compensation package includes:Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurancePaid vacation, sick leave, FMLA, and holidaysRetirement - Pension and 457B plans that help you build a secure futureFlexible schedules and work-life balance optionsMeaningful work that makes a difference for Wyoming communitiesHuman Resource Contact: Lindsey Galindo / View phone number on click.appcast.io / View email address on click.appcast.io Functions: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level.Responsible for general cleaning, vacuuming floors and furniture, emptying trash and recycling containers, dusting, mopping, sanitizing, washing windows and mirrors, and cleaning/stocking restrooms, bathrooms, and offices.Learns where custodial supplies are kept and replenishes supplies when needed.Observes and identifies areas that need repair and submits information to the supervisor.Complies with state and federal policies such as OSHA and EPA.Operates and maintains equipment, including vacuums, riding floor cleaners, floor buffers, carpet cleaners, and hand and shop tools.Moves furniture and sets up conference rooms for meetings and events.Performs designated watchman rounds to ensure security and safety, checks building systems for proper function, and updates security logs.Performs chemical renovations.Monitors fire protection systems.May assist with outside building and grounds duties such as trash and snow removal.Preferences: Preference will be given to applicants with prior experience working with PPE, emergency procedures, cleaning methods, cleaning materials, and chemicals.Knowledge: Knowledge of materials, supplies, equipment, and methods of more technical cleaning and maintenance. Knowledge of power and manual tools. Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations.Minimum Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma Experience: 0-6 months of progressive work experience (typically in Building and Grounds) OR Education & Experience Substitution: 1-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Building and Grounds) Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: NonePhysical Working Conditions:Exposure to hazardous materials, bodily fluids, chemicals, biohazards, and elements.Must be able to drive vehicles and operate large, complex cleaning and grounds maintenance equipment.This is a daytime position.Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.Notes:FLSA: Non-ExemptEmployment is subject to a successful applicant passing a background check.Benefits: Working for the State of Wyoming means more than a job — it's a stable, rewarding career that lets you make a difference while enjoying a great quality of life.
