Important Requirements

• Active Illinois IEMA X-ray license required.
• ARRT-certified X-ray technologist required.
• Interventional Radiology or cath lab experience required.
• Active BLS required.
• Interventional Radiology certification is not required.
• Must be able to maintain IV and contrast competency.
• Call required; currently approximately 2 days per week, with up to 10 days per month when fully staffed.
• No current weekend requirements; weekend call may be added.
• May assist with general X-ray when no Interventional Radiology procedures are being performed.

Position Summary

The Interventional Radiology Technologist performs diagnostic radiographic exams and interventional procedures according to established protocols and procedures. The role requires experience in Interventional Radiology or cath lab settings and includes patient positioning, radiation protection, IV and contrast competency, equipment maintenance, and use of PACS and EMR systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic exams.
• Perform interventional procedures according to established protocols and procedures.
• Utilize PACS and EMR systems.
• Maintain IV and contrast competency.
• Follow protocols for patient positioning, exposure control, and radiation protection.
• Communicate effectively with all individuals involved in patient care.
• Clean and inspect departmental equipment.
• Clean and stock imaging rooms.
• Perform office duties as needed.
• Assist with general X-ray procedures when no Interventional Radiology procedures are being performed.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Associate degree.

Experience

• 3 years of technical experience.
• Interventional Radiology or cath lab experience required.

Licensure

• Illinois IEMA X-ray license.

Required Certifications

• ARRT certification in Radiology.
• BLS/BCLS.

Schedule

• 13-week contract with an ongoing need.
• 8- or 10-hour shifts.
• Start time varies between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM depending on the day and shift length.
• Call required.
• Currently approximately 2 call days per week.
• Up to 10 call days per month when fully staffed.
• No current weekend requirement; Saturday or Sunday call may be added.
