Locum Physician Expert Wound Care Specialist in Batavia, OH

As a Wound Care Physician in this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and managing a wide range of complex wounds, including vascular ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, traumatic, surgical, and chronic wounds. Your duties will include implementing advanced treatments such as debridement, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, skin grafting, and negative pressure wound therapy. You will educate patients and their support systems on wound prevention and care, oversee topical therapies, and supervise hyperbaric oxygen treatments. This role involves collaborative patient management aimed at promoting healing, reducing recurrence, and improving quality of life.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Medical degree (MD or DO) with active state license in Ohio
• Proven experience in wound care management, including complex wound treatments
• Knowledge of advanced wound healing techniques and therapies
• Strong patient education and communication skills
• Ability to assess, diagnose, and develop comprehensive wound treatment plans
• Proficiency with EMR systems, preferably Epic
• Commitment to patient safety, thorough documentation, and compassionate care

Nice to Have Skills:

• Certification in Wound Care or Hyperbaric Medicine (e.g., CWSP, HBO certification)
• Prior experience in outpatient wound care settings
• Familiarity with medical device management related to wound treatments
• Multilingual abilities are a plus

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Medical degree and Ohio medical license in good standing
• At least 2 years of clinical wound care experience, ideally in outpatient or hospital settings
• Experience supervising hyperbaric oxygen therapy sessions

Other Requirements:

• Ability to work full-time during coverage dates from December 22, 2025, to March 31, 2026
• Willingness to travel within the facility and supervise hyperbaric oxygen treatments as needed
• Credentialing may be temporary; we facilitate this process swiftly
• Facility covers travel-related expenses including flight, mileage (IRS standard rate), hotel, and rental car
