Social Worker - High School

Evergreen Charter School is seeking a High School Social Worker to provide support and direct interventions to high school students, assisting them in developing effective coping skills and responses to their environments. The mission of Evergreen Charter School (ECS) is to nurture the intellectual, physical and social development of children, through a comprehensive program that promotes academic excellence and prepares its students for success in school and in life. Responsibilities Assess students’ emotional and behavioral needs and provide individual and group counseling. Engage in psychologically appropriate and evidence-based counseling with the main goal to support the students in achieving their social, emotional and academic goals. Promote problem solving, anger management and conflict resolution, and reinforce positive coping skills and resilience. Strengthen family-school partnerships by helping families understand their children’s learning needs and connecting families with the service providers when necessary. Provide guidance to faculty in adjusting classroom routines to improve student motivation and engagement in the learning process. Monitor student progress in academics and behavior and effectively communicate with faculty and parents. Communicate effectively with students, families, faculty, and administration, and other professionals outside the school. Education: Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree required; Master of Social Work (MSW) degree preferred. Qualifications: Track record of multicultural competency and fostering inclusive learning for K-12 student population.
