MRI TechnologistMinimum Hiring Wage: From $35.79 per hourJob Details:Scheduled Hours: VariableJob Description:Operate MRI scanners/equipment to demonstrate anatomical or physiological structures of the human body for diagnostic purposes. Produce quality images as directed by radiologists and providers for the diagnosis or treatment of anatomic or physiologic disorders. Demonstrate knowledge of general and cross-sectional anatomy, technical factors, MRI safety, and basic computer skills. Function to work independently and in a cooperative manner in teamwork-oriented atmosphere within the department and hospital wide. Must be able to provide exceptional patient care and satisfaction skills to all customers of the Great River Health. Competent in all routine MRI protocols and procedures, MRI safety and patient care, for all populations.Ensure thorough MRI safety screening processFollow and adhere to ACR Magnetic Resonance Imaging guidelinesOperate and oversee operation of magnetic imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposesKey commands and data into the computer to document and specify scan sequences, adjust parametersPosition and immobilize patient on scanner tableExplain procedures and observe patients to ensure safety and comfort during scansTake thorough and accurate patient medical historiesRegular and reliable attendanceQualifications:Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology or MRI RequiredPrevious MRI experience (preferred) PreferredHealthcare experience (preferred) PreferredRadiology Technician American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (United States of America) RequiredBasic Life Support Healthcare Provider - American Heart Association Upon Hire RequiredChild Abuse Iowa Mandatory Reporter - Iowa Department of Human Services Upon Hire RequiredDependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter - Iowa Department of Human Services Upon Hire RequiredARRT license requiredMRI board certification required within 1 year of hire if not already acquired- Technologists working in other modalities may not require MRI board certification.May be required: Call rotation, weekend shifts, irregular shifts, work/float in more than one work location or modality, per department needs.Great River Health and its affiliates are Equal Opportunity employers.
