The occupational therapist accurately assesses and identifies deficits in a patients ability to perform activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL) relative to physical, cognitive, and/or psychological impairments./ppDevelops an individualized treatment plan with patient-centered goals that will be accomplished by therapeutic interventions and the use of ADLs. This may include adaptation or modification of the environment or objects within the environment to facilitate engagement and participation./ppResponsibilities:/pulliPerforms patient assessment, treatment, discharge planning and collaboration with other health care providers./liliDocuments patient care and billing information timely and in accordance with department standards./liliCommunicates with co-workers, and other professionals, including physicians and nurses as needed to ensure optimal patient care./liliFunctions as a team member in care of patients and in mentoring with other staff./liliMaintains clinical productivity standards./liliMaintains technical clinical expertise through ongoing clinical education./liliParticipates in in-services, staff meetings, quality activities and aspects of program development./liliMaintains awareness of patient safety issues within the clinic and in the use of equipment.
