Description

  • Conduct evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients using standardized testing and observational analysis.
  • Craft individualized treatment plans that target both short-term and long-term needs for communication, cognitive skills, or swallowing functions.
  • Deliver personalized speech therapy focused on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing techniques.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop unified care strategies.
  • Provide education for patients and families to empower their ongoing progress beyond the clinical setting.
  • Engage in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions, ensuring a seamless continuum of care throughout therapy.
  • Maintain precise and timely records according to state, federal, and organizational regulations.
  • Stay informed about advances in the field by participating in continuing education and engaging with peers.

Education

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet obtained.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.

  • Expertise in evidence-based treatment modalities across all ages, with a solid understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

  • Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation standards.
