Overview

The Behavioral Wellness Center at Girard is seeking a dependable and professional Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our behavioral health nursing team within the Return Program. This program supports adults with psychiatric conditions, substance use disorders, and co-occurring diagnoses in a structured, therapeutic environment focused on stabilization, recovery, and continuity of care.

This role is ideal for nurses who are experienced or interested in behavioral health, crisis intervention, and working within a multidisciplinary care team. The position offers consistent scheduling options and the opportunity to make a direct impact in a high acuity clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in a behavioral health setting
• Administer medications and monitor for effectiveness and adverse reactions
• Document patient care accurately in the Electronic Health Record
• Participate in crisis intervention and utilize de-escalation techniques
• Supervise and support Mental Health Workers during assigned shifts
• Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and recovery goals
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and behavioral health professionals
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and procedures

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program required
• Active LPN license in Pennsylvania required
• At least 1 year of LPN experience preferred
• Behavioral health, psychiatric, or substance use experience strongly preferred
• CPR certification required
• CPI certification preferred

Work Environment

This is a fully onsite position within a behavioral health setting. The role requires the ability to remain calm and responsive in high pressure situations, including behavioral health emergencies and crisis intervention scenarios.
