Nutrition Care Associate PRN

Job Description Performs a variety of food and guest service duties under general supervision. This position includes patient meal tray assembly and delivery, cashier functions, food assembly, food serving, and cleaning tasks. Position Details Shift type: PRN, on call or as needed Pay Rate: Based on Experience ($17.68 - $22.99) Availability needed: Sunday‑Saturday Shifts Assigned: Variable 8–12 hour shifts between 6am–9pm Primary Needs Working 12 hours or more per pay period Benefits Eligible No Essential Functions Delivers and presents trays to patients using the standard process. Performs food preparation according to system standards (e.g., prepares salads, sandwiches, vegetables, and fruit). Follows standardized practices relating to Nutrition Services (e.g., dining experience, meal delivery, maintaining required stock levels). Performs housekeeping functions including cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, floor care, and equipment (oven, fryer, hoods). Performs accurate cash/credit transactions and resolves basic customer service issues. Skills Active Listening Coordinating tasks with others Guest focused Communicates clearly Attention to detail Qualifications Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification required by first day of work. One or more year of experience in the food industry or patient services (preferred). Demonstrated ability to work with modified diets (preferred). Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service (preferred). Physical Requirements Must be able to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and assess customer needs. Frequent interactions with customers requiring clear communication. Manual dexterity for manipulation of complex and delicate equipment. Ability to lift, transport, pull, and push equipment. Work on hands and knees, bend, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment, including heavy items. Stand for long periods. Tolerance to extremes in temperature and exposure to cleaning chemicals. Location Intermountain Health, Riverton Hospital, Riverton, Utah Scheduled Weekly Hours Variable; hourly rate dependent upon experience.
