The Harvard Medical School Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Spaulding Rehabilitation– Mass General Brigham is seeking a world-class research scientist to lead the Discovery Center for Stroke Recovery at the Schoen Adams Research Institute at Spaulding Rehabilitation. This candidate will further the Department of PM&R’s and Spaulding Rehabilitation’s mission to be a leading center for groundbreaking research contributing to advancements in rehabilitation science. This position and the Discovery Center for Stroke Recovery are supported by multimillion-dollar philanthropic research support. Candidates who are clinician-scientists (MD or DO) may also serve as the Harvard Medical School Department of PM&R’s Division Chief of Stroke and Neurorehabilitation. We seek candidates who qualify for an Associate Professor appointment at Harvard Medical School. The Director of the Discovery Center for Stroke Recovery will: Oversee and expand the Center’s multidisciplinary research efforts that transform the science of stroke and neurorehabilitation recovery Lead initiatives to secure external research funding from federal, foundation, and industry partners Recruit and mentor outstanding faculty, trainees, and staff, and guide education and training efforts for the next generation of leaders Foster collaborations across Mass General Brigham, nationally, and internationally Develop innovative programs for patients with stroke and neurologic disorders The ideal candidate will have: An established national and international reputation in stroke and neurologic rehabilitation Proven excellence in leadership, research, mentorship, and education A strong record of funded research, impactful publications, and collaboration The vision to advance stroke and neurorehabilitation care and enhance recovery outcomes for survivors globally Board certification in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (for MD or DO candidates) with proven clinical excellence Join the Harvard Medical School Department of PM&R at Spaulding Rehabilitation – Mass General Brigham – where your leadership will impact patients, fuel scientific discovery, and inspire future leaders.
