Part-Time Janitor

Job Overview

We are looking for a dependable, part-time Janitor in the Moss Point, MS area. Work will be performed at Trent-Lott Airport, 8301 Saracennia Rd., Moss Point, MS 39563. This position reports to the President/Majority-Owner.

Compensation

$14.45 per hour wages PLUS $5.55 per hour benefits = $20.00 per hour

Work Schedule

Workdays: Monday, Wednesday and Friday

Work Hours

2 hours per day, between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm

Specific work schedule will be determined during the interview process.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Vacuum all carpeting and removing small spots on carpet. Shampoo carpet annually.
• Sweep, mop, and spray buff resilient floors.
• Strip and wax floors annually.
• Dust/sanitize countertops and surfaces, telephones, doorknobs and seats.
• Empty all wastebaskets and other trash receptacles, placing trash in the outside trash bin and replacing soiled, torn trash receptable liners. Damp wipe trash receptacles as needed.
• Clean, sanitize and restock restrooms.
• Clean and sanitize drinking fountains.
• Dust blinds, window ledges, baseboards, air vents, and remove cobwebs.
• Clean glass surfaces and windows.
• Clean light fixtures.
• Wipe down appliances and exercise equipment.
• Maintain cleaning charts and checklists indicating areas that were cleaned and inspected.
• Organize and clean janitorial storage areas. Inventory janitorial supplies.
• Notify Facility Manager about unsafe conditions or concerning the need for repairs or maintenance.
• Other duties as needed to support operations.

Qualifications for Janitor

• Must be dependable!
• Must possess one year of experience in janitorial services.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to communicate in English – to read and interpret written information; ability to write clear statements; ability to communicate orally.
• Must be able to pass background check.
• Ability to observe safety and security procedures and to comply with policies.
• Must be able to do physical work and operate equipment normally found in janitorial operations.
• Must be able to manage time efficiently and to work individually as well as within a team.
