Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring extensive trauma, STEMI, stroke, and sepsis experience with a full complement of ED certifications.

Details

• Work in a 30-bed Emergency Department
• Staffing includes CNC, RNs, PCT/EMT, and unit secretary support on both day and night shifts
• Patient ratios of 1-5 depending on acuity
• Unit performs advanced procedures including thoracotomy, arterial lines, and massive transfusion protocol (MTP)
• Uses advanced monitors, defibrillators, ultrasound, and EKG machines
• Currently uses Meditech EMR, transitioning to Expanse in August 2026
• 13-week assignment on a 2p-2a shift schedule
• Alternate weekend work required
• May be required to float to two free-standing EDs as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license (TX or Compact) currently in hand
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department experience required
• Extensive experience with trauma, STEMI, stroke, and sepsis required
• Advanced critical thinking skills required
• Required certifications: ENPC, TNCC, ACLS, PALS, BLS, and CPI with TIC
• NRP and STABLE certifications are a plus
• Adult and pediatric ED experience preferred
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required

• Deliver emergency care to a diverse patient population with high-acuity trauma and critical care needs
• Candidates should be flexible, accountable, and strong team players
• Must wear royal blue scrubs in accordance with facility dress code policy
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered for this position
