Pediatric Behavioral Health Occupational Therapist Assistant COTA

Job Description The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant provides assistance to the occupational therapist in developing and implementing occupational therapy treatment, procedures, and related activities for direct patient care. Responsibilities Provides skilled occupational therapy services under the direction and supervision of a licensed occupational therapist, staying updated on standard practices for different patient groups. Conducts treatments according to professional standards (AOTA). Meets established productivity and documentation standards for the department. Keeps thorough and timely patient records and completes patient billing accurately and promptly. Communicates effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare providers about patient needs, goals, and progress. Participates in continuing education opportunities and seeks new learning opportunities according to licensure requirements. Engages in quality improvement processes, including safe equipment use, improving clinical outcomes, patient access, and patient experience. Participates in utilization review audits. Contributes to program development and marketing strategies to grow the occupational therapy program. Qualifications Current Occupational Therapist Assistant license in the state of employment. Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers. Basic computer skills. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Experience with target population of job setting. Current driver’s license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record. Physical Requirements Ongoing need to see, read, and verbally communicate. Manual dexterity for complex equipment and frequent computer use. Ability to lift and transfer patients, manipulate heavy items, push/pull gurneys, and walk/ambulate patients. Ability to stand for extended periods. Location & Compensation Location: Centerville Day Treatment, City: Centerville, State: Utah. Salary: $29.43 - $45.39 per hour based on experience. Scheduled: 40 hours per week.
