Quality Inspector

Position Summary We are currently seeking a Quality Inspector to perform inspection functions of assembled parts. Inspectors review products and/or documents at various stages of production, validate processes, and produce documentation required to demonstrate compliance with the Sonaca North America Quality System, while operating under close supervision. Inspectors read and interpret customer instructions, blueprints, charts, and other statistical information; prepare parts and documentation for outside criteria; and participate in work center and other problem‑solving teams as requested. Essential Job Responsibilities Assist production personnel in establishing and documenting inspection criteria and prepare parts and documentation to meet external requirements. Enter data into the Work Order Tracking System, including notes and recorded data. Document nonconforming material per Quality System requirements. Identify parts deficiencies and help prevent recurrence. Determine product acceptability according to work order and customer requirements. Exercise stop‑the‑job authority at any process stage. Perform sampling inspection. Maintain housekeeping in the inspection areas. Handle customer‑supplied product with care. Use calibrated thickness masters, shims, certified master material samples, etc. correctly. Verify the job by matching parts with the work order, part numbers, printed and/or electronic pictures, and part count. Meet and exceed customer expectations while maintaining Sonaca North America’s quality standards. Access applicable Prime customer specification requirements on the SharePoint site. Manage time effectively to meet production, quality, and delivery schedules. Interact professionally with co‑workers, vendors, and internal customers to maintain good relations. Follow all safety requirements and enforce compliance. Work overtime, including weekends, on short notice as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by the Inspection Lead. Respond quickly to inquiries and follow up when necessary. Embrace change to ensure overall success of the company. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred; non‑eligible applicants required to complete a pre‑employment assessment. Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret American English and customer drawings, as well as sketches and schematics. Good working knowledge of internal procedures, customer requirements, and processes in the chemical processing area. Strong communication skills with inspection personnel, floor operators, and customer service representatives. Flexible, self‑driven, and professional in interactions with all levels of staff. Proficiency in using the Work Order Tracking Program and the Quality System on SharePoint. Effective troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills. Ability to follow written and verbal directions, apply basic math, and maintain attention to detail. Ability to handle stressful situations with honesty and ethical conduct. Motivational, presentation, organizational, planning, and analytical skills, though not required, are desired. Positive attitude, dependability, strong work ethic, and team‑building capabilities. Physical Requirements Ability to sit or stand for extended periods; noise levels range from quiet to extremely loud. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required, including eye, ear, and foot protection. May occasionally lift or move 10–50 pounds.
