Senior accountant

Senior Accountant We are looking for a contract Senior Accountant (6 months) to leverage their skills, drive positive financial results, and build a rewarding, long-term career with us. Your Day-to-Day:

• Financial Accuracy: Ensure accurate and timely compilation of accounting information, analysis, and reporting in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
• Closing Support: Lead and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting closes for assigned functional areas.
• Intercompany Reconciliations: Complete and oversee the monthly reconciliation of intercompany accounts, proactively resolving outstanding balance issues.
• General Ledger Maintenance: Accurately maintain general ledger accounts, research and interpret financial trends, and explain budget variances or fluxes.
• Management Reporting: Support the preparation and distribution of monthly management reports and statistical data across key accounting areas (cash, accruals, AR, AP, foreign exchange).

What You'll Need to Excel:

• Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of dedicated accounting or financial reporting experience.
• Skills: A solid math aptitude and excellent analytical capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business, preferred
• 3 or more years of accounting experience, preferably in a Senior Accountant role or similar
• 1+ years working in a medium to large, multinational company.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle and Hyperion Financial Management tools (HFM, Hyperion Essbase, or similar consolidation software), preferred
• Proven ability to analyze and research large datasets from multiple sources.

salary: $49.99 - $50 per hour

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and timely compilation of accounting information, analysis and reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies and procedures
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting closes for areas of functional responsibility
• Complete and/or oversee the monthly reconciliation of intercompany accounts; resolve outstanding balance issues

• Accurately and efficiently maintain the general ledger accounts; research, understand, and interpret trends and variances, and explain fluxes
• Support the preparation and distribution of monthly accounting management reports and statistical research data based on areas within accounting, such as cash, accruals, accounts receivable, accounts payable, intercompany reconciliations, foreign exchange, etc.
