Sterile Processing Technician

Location: Salem, OR

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Shift: Night 4x10-Hour (21:00 - 07:30) - Monday to Thursday

Job Description: The Sterile Processing Technician plays a crucial role in the healthcare setting by ensuring the cleanliness and readiness of surgical instruments. This technician will be responsible for cleaning, preparing, sterilizing, and storing instruments used throughout the healthcare facility. The role primarily involves working in the decontamination area and preparing case carts for the Operating Room (OR).

Responsibilities:

• Cleans, prepares, and sterilizes surgical instruments from various specialties.
• Prepares case carts for surgeries in the Operating Room.
• Works primarily in the decontamination area with minimal tray assembly.
• Ensures compliance with aseptic techniques and maintains sterilization protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• A minimum of 5 years of previous sterile processing experience is required.
• Must be certified (CRCST or CSPDT) at hire and maintain certification.
• Certification from IASCHM, CBSPD, or HSPA is required.
• 3 or above rating in Robotics preferred.
• Experience working in a Level II Trauma hospital or similar facility.
