Job Title: Automotive Mechanic Job Description

The primary duties of the Automotive Mechanic involve performing predictive and preventive maintenance, as well as overhauling various engines, transmissions, differentials, steering systems, and brakes. The role requires the use of testing and diagnostic instruments to inspect and diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions in automotive vehicles, light trucks, and various heavy-duty, portable, and stationary engines. Additionally, the mechanic will repair or replace defective or worn parts and accessories, utilizing acetylene or arc welding equipment when necessary. This position may lead to a promotion to Equipment Mechanic, contingent upon meeting the qualifications and possessing a California Class A Driver’s License with an air brake endorsement.

• Perform predictive and preventive maintenance on automotive vehicles and light trucks.
• Overhaul engines, transmissions, differentials, steering systems, and brakes.
• Utilize testing and diagnostic instruments to inspect and diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions.
• Repair or replace defective or worn parts and accessories.
• Use acetylene or arc welding equipment when necessary.

• Experience in diagnosis and automotive repair.
• Proficiency in preventive maintenance.
• Experience with Ford F150.
• Ability to conduct diagnostic testing and provide automotive service.

• Experience in servicing and repairing air conditioning systems.
• Knowledge of stationary fuel pumps, steam cleaners, and high-pressure washers.

The role is based in a fleet mechanic shop environment.

This is a Contract position based out of Five Points, CA.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
