The Mental Health Clinician provides direct clinical services within the Psychological Services Center (PSC) at UAA. The PSC is a psychology training clinic embedded within the Psychology Department. The Department of Psychology at UAA offers a BA/BS in Psychology, MS in Clinical Psychology (Clinical & Applied Behavior Analysis Tracks), MS in School Psychology - Specialist, and Ph.D. in Clinical-Community Psychology (APA accredited) degrees. This position is primarily focused on clinical service provision, operational support, and contributions to training environments of student clinicians. The clinician will work with a diverse client population—including adolescents and adults—and support the clinic’s mission of expanding access while maintaining a strong student training environment. The clinician will also support clinic operations and other duties as assigned.This is a 12-month, staff position complete with both a competitive salary, DOE, and full employee benefits package, with an expected start date in August 2026.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or other related field from an accredited program and three years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Training in a specialized area of knowledge required. Appropriate state licensure and certification in a specialized area may be required.
Preferred experience: Licensure or license eligibility in Alaska (e.g., LPC or Psychologist or comparable license); experience providing psychotherapy to diverse populations; knowledge of ethical, legal, and professional standards in clinical practice; experience working with adolescents and/or children; experience in a training clinic or academic setting; familiarity with insurance billing, CPT/ICD coding, and documentation standards; and experience working with students is a plus.
Position Details:
This position is located on the University of Alaska Anchorage campus in Anchorage, AK. This is a part-time, term-funded, exempt staff position (20-23 hours per week; set hours to be determined at the time of hire), complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package . UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule , Grade 80, based on education and experience.
