Job Title: Travel Sterile Processing Technician
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Type: Travel Contract – 13 Weeks
Shift & Schedule: Evenings | 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM | 5x8-Hour Shifts | 40 Hours/Week
Pay Rate: $1,000 - $1,345/week (Based on Experience)
Requirement: Level I Trauma Center Experience

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Travel Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) to support sterile processing operations in a high-volume Level I Trauma Center.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, disinfect, inspect, assemble, package, sterilize, and distribute surgical instruments and equipment.

• Prepare surgical trays and instrumentation according to surgical-service requirements.

• Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, damage, and proper operation.

• Operate sterilization and high-level disinfection equipment.

• Monitor and document sterilization and quality-control processes.

• Maintain accurate sterile processing records and documentation.

• Store and handle sterile instruments and supplies appropriately.

• Respond to operating-room requests and prioritize urgent instrumentation needs.

• Work closely with OR staff, nurses, and surgical teams.

• Maintain inventory of instruments, supplies, and equipment.

• Follow infection-control, OSHA, safety, and hospital policies.

• Handle complex instrumentation for high-acuity surgical procedures.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe sterile processing environment.

Required Qualifications

• Previous Sterile Processing Technician / Surgical Services Technician experience.

• Level I Trauma Center experience required.

• Experience in a high-volume surgical environment strongly preferred.

• CBSPD or IAHCSMM/HSPA certification required and must be in hand at submission.

• Strong knowledge of sterile processing procedures and infection-control standards.
