Veteran Senior Data Center Technician

Salary: $57,500 - 118,200 per year Requirements:

• We prefer 1+ year of experience with structured cabling, copper/fiber testing, and data center cooling and electrical systems.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is required.
• We require the ability to work 10-12 hour shifts, stand and walk for extended periods, climb a 9 ft ladder, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to travel as needed is required.

• We identify opportunities to replace or upgrade server components and maintain hardware throughout its lifecycle.
• We validate cabling, confirm network build accuracy, and verify connectivity and device health.
• We monitor and assign work in a ticketing system, mentor less experienced technicians, and implement technical solutions.
• We troubleshoot and support systems while meeting service level agreements, documenting steps, resolutions, and emerging trends.
• We follow standard operating procedures and maintenance operation protocols for data center change control work.
• We maintain security, compliance, health, and safety standards during on-site work.
• We train advanced fix and repair techniques aligned with corporate objectives.
• We identify recurring issues, escalate concerns to senior peers or external experts, and engage the global team on local problems.
• We coordinate with project teams and colocation partners to test and validate electrical and mechanical systems and site utility requirements.
• We act as a technical liaison for technical and non-technical teams, helping resolve resiliency, reliability, and availability risks.
• We ensure contractors and vendors deliver quality service and meet SLA expectations.
• We contribute to process creation, quality assurance, and training for less experienced peers.
• We complete complex or ambiguous tasks with limited direction and help guide shifting priorities and resources.
• We collaborate across teams, troubleshoot complex errors, share procedures, and recommend process improvements.

This is a 24/7/365 position with rotating day and night shifts, weekend and holiday coverage, and occasional travel based on business needs. The role offers a competitive US hiring range of $27.64 to $56.83 per hour, or $57,500 to $118,200 per year, depending on knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and location.
