College Community School District is seeking an Office/Lunch Clerk at Prairie Hill Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year. Job Goal

Responsible for performing clerical duties in an office setting. Assists certified staff and secretaries by sorting mail, filing, answering phones, greeting clients, scheduling meetings, and restocking supplies.

Preparation, Experience, Skills

• High school diploma.
• Ability to obtain a satisfactory statement of health as required by law.
• Ability to take instructions.
• Successfully complete the certification process to dispense medication to students.
• Enjoys working with a variety of people.
• Computer skills data entry and typing are required.
• Participate in twelve (12) hours of in-service/workshop activities annually.

Principle Duties

• Answer phones and greet parents, students, staff members, community members, and other office visitors warmly with a focus on customer service.
• Assist in filing duties.
• Perform basic bookkeeping duties.
• Reroute calls to appropriate people.
• Answer basic inquiries.
• Help organize office activities.
• Operate office machines such as fax machines, voice mail systems, copy machines, personal computers, etc.
• Take and deliver messages.
• Sort and distribute mail.
• Restock supplies.
• Competently pass medications to students when the School Nurse or Meds Clerk needs assistance.

Must be able to occasionally lift, move, or push items of 50 lbs such as assisting children or moving/rearranging furniture. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to work with others in all types of weather, meet multiple demands from several people, and interact with the public, students, and other staff. May also involve above-average levels of activity at times that can't always be anticipated.
