Director, AI Experience Design Lead

Pfizer seeks a Director to lead AI experience design across the organization, owning the design system, standards, and team that ensure consistent, compliant AI interfaces for 80,000 employees. This role combines executive leadership with hands-on design delivery, spanning conversational interfaces, agentic systems, and enterprise LLM integrations.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve Pfizer's AI-first design system across human and agent surfaces as single source of truth
• Deliver design standards as code including tokens, patterns, and components integrated into engineering pipelines
• Lead design team through hiring, growth, mentoring, and full talent lifecycle management
• Design agentic and conversational experiences including dialog flows, error recovery, and assistant behaviors
• Independently execute end-to-end design for high-impact initiatives from problem framing through prototypes

Requirements

• Extensive experience leading design teams and shipping production design systems at scale
• Deep expertise in conversational UX, agentic AI, and modern LLM-based product design
• Strong technical understanding of LLMs, AI agents, and modern product development stacks
• Proven ability to translate design into code and establish design standards in engineering pipelines
• Executive presence with narrative storytelling and political acumen in complex organizations
• Demonstrated track record connecting design outcomes to measurable KPIs and adoption metrics
• Experience designing for regulated environments and accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA)
