POSITION SUMMARY

The University of Providence invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor of Biology at our campus in Great Falls, Montana to teach undergraduate biology courses as assigned. Teaching opportunities may include Anatomy & Physiology, Microbiology, General Biology, and other courses aligned with the candidate's academic preparation and expertise. Candidates with experience and/or expertise in Forensic Science or Chemistry are encouraged to apply.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Teach assigned undergraduate Biology courses in accordance with departmental and University standards.
• Prepare and deliver course materials, lectures, laboratory activities, and assessments.
• Maintain accurate student records and submit grades according to established University policies and deadlines.
• Hold reasonable office hours or be available to students by appointment.
• Foster an engaging, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
• Communicate regularly with department leadership regarding course needs and student success.
• Adhere to University policies, procedures, and academic standards.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSEducation

• Master's degree in Biology or a closely related field required.
• Doctorate in Biology or a related discipline preferred.

Experience

• Demonstrated success teaching college-level Biology courses or relevant professional experience in the biological sciences.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience teaching Anatomy & Physiology and/or Microbiology.
• Experience teaching in online or hybrid learning environments.
• Expertise in Forensic Science.
• Familiarity with learning management systems and instructional technology.

POSITION DETAILS

Position Type: Adjunct Faculty
FLSA Status: Exempt
Location: Great Falls, Montana
Appointment: Part-time, contingent upon enrollment and departmental needs
Compensation: Adjunct faculty are compensated on a per-credit basis
